Most people today have access to carefully thought-out and aesthetically designed products. Attractive form follows function; this is a concept that most beneficiaries of Western culture take for granted. In design for the physically disabled on the other hand, the form or aesthetics of a product is, more often than not, subordinated to its functionality. Can the new line of thought in design, which is by nature grounded in limitations, have an impact on the wider design culture?
